’60 Carolyn (Schmidt) Lesser (EHS), of St. Louis, Missouri, wrote and illustrated a children’s natural science non-fiction book called Great Polar Bear which will be translated into Chinese and marketed throughout mainland China this year.

Stephen Thompson

’64 Stephen Thompson (EHS), of Copley, Ohio, retired from the University of Akron and is active in church and community groups.

’71 Suzanne (Walters) Doemel (EHS) and ’81 (MSE), of Oshkosh, taught 31 years in the Oshkosh Area School District and is in her 19th year working for UW Oshkosh’s College of Education and Human Services.

’71 Esther Szambelan (MST), of Racine, celebrated her 100th birthday. Szambelan is a Dominican Sister and liturgical musician.

’75 Dan Feldt (LS), of Menomonee Falls, retired after 41 years in the occupational and health safety field. Feld was a member of the 1972 Titan championship football team and looks forward to their reunion October 29, 2022.

John Close

’76 John Close (LS), of Charlotte, North Carolina, retired at the end of 2019 as a sports journalist/motorsports author with the publication of his fifth book, Barnyard To Brickyard-The Rich Bickle Story. Close spends his retirement kayaking and playing disc golf and looks forward to being an alumni speaker during UWO’s 2021 Homecoming festivities.

’78 Jon Martin (B), of Williams Bay, is the chief financial officer at Settlers Bank.

’93 Andrew Radig (LS), of Oshkosh, is the communications coordinator for the City of Oshkosh. Radig also assists local organizations with communications through Oshkosh community television and radio. He rejoined the department he helped build in the 1990s, Oshkosh Media.

William Thomas

’96 William Thomas (MBA), of New York, New York, is the chief member operations officer at United Nations Chief Federal Credit Union, where he has been employed since 1998.

’99 Peter Gianopoulos (MBA), of Appleton, is the president and CEO of United Way Fox Cities. Gianopoulos previously worked 25 years at Thrivent and received Thrivent’s Volunteer Excellence Award for his work in the community.

’99 Heidi Schmidt (EHS), of Appleton, has been selected as district administrator for the Little Chute Area School District. Schmidt has served as the district’s director of pupil services and president of its Flex Academy charter since July 2019.

’00 Hans Gochenaur (LS), of Beaver Dam, director for Beaver Dam Campus Life and Campus Life Ministries for Badgerland Youth for Christ, facilitated the 2021 Professional Dairy Producers annual conference, featuring programming geared for high school students with an interest in the dairy industry.  Gochenaur is a graduate of Grace Theological Seminary and has dedicated 20 years to youth ministry and 16 years to coaching high school sports.

’00 Stephen Westphal (LS), of Waterford, was selected as the Muskego chief of police. Westphal has served the Muskego Police Department for the past 16 years and was named the 2020 Death Investigator of the Year by the Wisconsin Association of Homicide Investigators.

’02 Willie Jude II (LS), of Nashville, Tennessee, was selected as the new vice chancellor for advancement at UW-Parkside. Jude will lead the Development and Alumni Relations and University Communications teams.

’05 Laura Laitinen-Warren (MS), of Green Bay, has been appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Green Bay School Board.

’05 Matthew Stolen (B), of Grants Pass, Oregon, is chief compliance officer of Kingsview Partners, a growing registered investment advisor (RIA) firm.

’06 Aaron Hyde (LS), of Auckland, New Zealand, is the author of a book coming out in October, How To Distill, published by Harvard Common Press. Hyde is the international sales manager for Bevie, providing equipment and ingredients to distillers around the world. Hyde has been an avid home brewer since 1996, and received certifications in brewing, malting and distilling through the Institute of Brewing & Distilling.

’09 Mary Ann Offer-Westort (MPA), of Oshkosh, received the American Field Service (AFS) Galatti Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, an honor given to those whose longtime commitment and dedication have advanced the mission and goals of AFS.

’10 Amanda (Krohn) Schuh (N), of Jordan, Minnesota, is the director of nursing for Lorenz Clinic of Family Psychology and oversees the psychiatry department. Schuh is married to ’05 Ryan Schuh (B).

’11 Ben Lancour (EHS), of Appleton, wrote Henry and the Gym Monster, a book about a boy who wants to play with friends and is tricked by a monster into playing games his way. Lancour is an elementary physical education teacher in the Green Bay Area School District.

’12 Tara (Kubichka) Ditter (LS), of Chilton, is a care coordinator for Lutheran Social Services. Ditter and her husband have two children, ages 7 and 9.

’15 Alicia Lesinski (EHS), of Australind, Western Australia, works at a mental health recovery not-for-profit organization. Prior to moving to Australia in 2017, Lesinski was a case manager in Nashville, Tennessee.

’18 Alexandra Vandenberg (N), of San Francisco, California, is a travel nurse in the Bay Area. Vandenberg is enjoying the change of pace and the climate.

’19 Stuart Matthias (OCE), of Ashland, is interim chief of the Ashland Fire Department. Matthias has been with the department for 19 years.

’19 Jennifer Weston (B), of Oshkosh, is a load planner with WSI Supply Chain Solutions. Weston thanks the professors at UW Oshkosh for leaving her well-prepared to succeed in her job.

’86 Thomas Armstrong (EHS), of Sheboygan, is retiring after 30 years as track coach and social studies teacher at Plymouth High School.

’86 Karen Gibson (EHS) and ’90 (MA), of Menasha, published her debut novel Pieces of Grace. Gibson is retired from teaching at UW Oshkosh.

’86 Ron Jungwirth (B), of Omro, is a second-grade catechist at St. Mary Parish. Jungwirth was able to apply his technology skills to assist with virtual religious offerings through the pandemic.

’87 Rob Kleman (B), of Oshkosh, joined the New North‘s NEW Digital Alliance Executive Committee. Kleman is senior vice president of economic development for the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce and lead staff person for Amplify Oshkosh.

’87 Teri (Russell) Frailing (EHS), of Menomonee Falls, retired after 30 years teaching first through fourth grade in the School District of Menomonee Falls.

’89 Todd Woulf (B), of Appleton, is the Northeast Area vice president for Airgas. Woulf has 33 years of diverse experience including his most recent role as a district manager.

’91 David Farin (EHS), of Appleton, will retire from teaching in the Neenah Joint School District in June.

’92 Renee (Drohman) Torzala (LS), of Appleton, is the vice president of marketing and investor relations at New North, Inc. Torzala will lead marketing and branding initiatives, manage investor relations and coordinate events.

’94 Jason Hilger (B), of the Town of Rolling, is the Langlade County manager. Hilger previously worked for Vilas County.

’95 Mike Bertello (MBA), of Sherwood, joined the New North‘s NEW Digital Alliance Executive Committee. Bertello is vice president for business technologies at Faith Technologies.

’99 Shannon Schuren (EHS), of Sheboygan Falls, authored her second novel Where Echoes Lie, a ghost story that will be published in October. Schuren is married to ’97 Joshua Schuren (EHS).

’03 Tracey Brewczynski (EHS), of Pulaski, received the Pulaski Community School District’s (PCSD) team-teaching Golden Apple Award for her excellence in teaching during the pandemic. Brewczynski is a teacher in the PCSD’s full online learning second grade team.

’03 Kristopher Karns (LS), of Oshkosh, was elected to the Oshkosh Area School Board.

’03 Tasha (Freier) Naylor (B), of Lake Mills, is the director of business services for the Lake Mills Area School District.

’06 Michele (Sankey) Green (EHS), of Willard, was named the Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association (WEMTA) Professional of the Year. Green is the Greenwood School District’s 4K-12 library media technology director.

’08 Chris Wright (LS), of Oshkosh, was elected to the Oshkosh Area School Board.

’09 Kristine Grill (LS), of Saint Paul, Minnesota, received the Emerging Leaders Award of Excellence from the American Society for Public Administration’s Center for Accountability and Performance. Grill is the open data coordinator for Ramsey County.

’09 Bethany Lerch (LS), of Oshkosh, is a domestic violence services psychotherapist with Agnesian HealthCare/SSM Health.

’10 Gregory Jones (B), of Brookfield, is a project manager with MetaLocator. Jones and his wife are expecting a baby girl in June.

’11 Lori (Hoover) Palmeri (LS), of Oshkosh, was elected to a second two-year term as mayor of the City of Oshkosh.

’11 Erin Tyink (EHS), of Appleton, is the vice president of development for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay. Tyink previously worked for ThedaCare Family of Foundations.

’13 Jessica (Sosnoski) Carr (B), of Neenah, is the marketing and communications director for the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh. Carr has spent the last several years working in marketing and event planning in the Fox Cities.

’15 Katelyn Wendt (N), of Evansville, is a registered nurse on an abdominal transplant floor with UW Health. Wendt graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in 2020.

’18 Susan Warner (OCE), of Augusta, is the Eau Claire County Register in Probate and Clerk of Juvenile Court.

’19 Taylor McCabe (B), of Valparaiso, Indiana, is an operations planner with Bulkmatic Transport.

’20 Danielle Mayer (EHS), of Grafton, was elected to the Port Washington-Saukville School Board.

They bought a new home and are engaged to be married in July. Geertsen and Coleman were finalists for the Elmbrook District’s Excellence in Teaching-New Educator Award. Coleman ultimately received the award.


’64 Larry Daehn (EHS), of New Glarus, received the Edwin Franko Goldman Memorial Citation Award from the American Bandmasters Association (ABA) for his outstanding contributions to the world of band. Daehn was the New Glarus School District’s band and choir director for 27 years.

Tim Morrissey

’66 Reid Schoonover (EHS), of Clintonville, has 42 pieces of his artwork, a combination of ceramics and wood, on display at the Abel Contemporary Gallery in Stoughton. Schoonover and his wife created the Pigeon River Artists Group in Clintonville.

’72 Tim Morrissey (LS), of Bridgeport, Connecticut, retired near the coast and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.

’72 Linda (Wahlers) Reetz (EHS) and ’83 (MSE), of Berlin, is stepping down as a board of education member for the Berlin Area School District, a position she has held for 24 years. Reetz was an elementary school teacher in the Princeton School District for over 25 years.

’74 Viki (Wedell) Strandberg (LS), of Fort Myers, Florida, retired from General Motors in Brookfield and moved to Florida.

’75 Ron Fohrman (LS), of Naples, Florida, is self-employed and loves living in Naples.

’79 Brad Stratton (LS), of Franklin, retired in December after a 40-year career in journalism and communications.

’82 Lori (Burns) Brooks (LS), of Walla Walla, Washington, a seven-time National Sports Emmy Award recipient and 16-time nominee, traveled to Orlando during the Covid pandemic to cover the WNBA’s 2020 season at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Brooks was an associate director for a variety of games for TNT, NBA TV, ESPN, Turner Sports and local networks.

’82 Anne Lingelbach (MS), of Appleton, retired from a 44-year teaching career in 2015. Lingelbach is pursuing a second career as a children’s author and has published four books.

’84 Mark Bohman (EHS), of Sheboygan, is retiring after teaching 35 years in the Sheboygan Falls School District. Bohman is most recently a sixth grade teacher and basketball coach.

’88 Donald Gudmundson (MBA), of Greely, Colorado, retired in 2020 from the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado after serving as dean and the graduate coordinator. Gudmundson and his wife, Fumiko Fukuta, both served as faculty at UW Oshkosh.

’88 Angie (Venturini) Landsverk (LS), of Waupaca, was recognized for her press releases and articles representing the accomplishments of the City of Waupaca Common Council when Waupaca Mayor Brian Smith issued a proclamation declaring Feb. 17, 2021 as “Angie From the Paper Day.” Landsverk has reported on the Council since 1996.

’94 Paul Halverson (EHS), of Arcadia, is an elementary school principal in the Arcadia School District. Halverson is married to ’94 Peggy (Sobotta) Halverson (EHS).

’95 Jason Knight (B) and ’95 Erin (Jordan) Knight (EHS), of Neosho, look forward to watching their daughter, Mallory, play soccer for the UW Oshkosh women’s soccer team in fall.

’01 Jody (Weiland) Heipp (EHS) and ’02 (MSE), of Kewaskum, will be the Kewaskum School District’s pupil services director as of July 1. An employee of the district for ten years, Heipp is currently the principal of Kewaskum Elementary School.

Dave Lezotte

’06 Dave Lezotte (LS), of Dacula, Georgia, is the lead broadcaster and media relations manager for the Gwinnett Stripers, a triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Lezotte has worked 16 years in minor league baseball since graduating from UWO.

’08 Sara (Nighbor) Rutkowski (LS), of Berlin, is Berlin’s city administrator/clerk-treasurer. Rutkowski will continue to serve as Berlin’s senior programming and recreation coordinator.

’09 Angela Cleary (MSE), of Hartford, was named the Hartford Joint #1 School District’s 2021 Teacher of the Year.

’09 Andrew Gay (LS), of Sun Prairie, is a facilities maintenance technician for Exact Sciences, a cancer research company in Madison. Gay previously worked 31 years at WMTV Channel 15 in Madison.

Kim Hill

’09 Kim Hill (N), of Shawano, is a registered nurse at the Menominee Tribal Clinic. Hill has been employed with the Tribe for 11 years and enjoys taking care of her fellow tribe members.

’10 Corey Foster (LS) and ’17 (MSE), of Oshkosh, is an academic advisor for TRIO Support Services at UW Oshkosh, a program that provides services to first-generation and low-income students.

’11 Paul Cashman (LS), of Fox Lake, leads the digital sales team of the DealerFire product line at DealerSocket.

’11 Lexie Garber (N), of Madison, is a nurse with the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. Garber recently completed a three-week Covid crisis contract in Compton, Calif.

Christina Lopez

’11 Christina Lopez (LS), of Madison, is a third grade dual-language immersion teacher in the Madison Metropolitan School District. Lopez previously worked for Americorps VISTA and taught in Milwaukee.

’12 Renee Anderson (OCE), of Fond du Lac, is the campus administrator at the UW Oshkosh Fond du Lac campus. Anderson oversees all daily operations and university-wide initiatives at the campus.

’12 Julie Leu-Martinek (LS), of Marshfield, is in her eighth year as a police officer with the Marshfield Police Department. Leu-Martinek has been a school resource officer for the past four years and has been trained as a crisis intervention officer, crisis negotiator, instructor and member of the critical incident stress management team. She is married with a two year old daughter.

’12 Amber Zernzach (EHS), of Oshkosh, is the incoming principal at Rosendale Primary and Brandon Elementary Schools and the Rosendale-Brandon School District’s summer school director. Zernzach has taught elementary school in the Winneconne and Oshkosh Districts and served as an instructional coach and interventionist in the Oshkosh Area School District.

’14 Arden Helm (LS), of Oshkosh, is a partner at Quill Creative Studio. Helm is an art director for the studio’s most recent work with Oshkosh Defense for its successful U.S. Postal Service mail truck bid proposal.

’15 Mike Presser (LS), of Middleton, opened Pure Wellness Chiropractic in Madison. Presser’s practice will focus on prenatal and pediatric care as well as routine chiropractic care.

’17 Kaylin Felix (LS), of Medford, is a hydrogeologist with REI Engineering, Inc. Felix is also a member of REI’s emergency spill response team.

’18 Margaret Geertsen (EHS) and ’18 Trenton Coleman (EHS), of Waukesha, are both teachers in the Elmbrook School District. They bought a new home and are engaged to be married in July. Geertsen and Coleman were finalists for the Elmbrook District’s Excellence in Teaching-New Educator Award. Coleman ultimately received the award.

’18 Nora Leigh (LS), of Oshkosh, is a membership services representative with Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). Leigh is very interested in World War II history.

’18 Serena Robson (EHS), of Portage, is an elder benefit specialist/interim disability benefit specialist with the Columbia County Health and Human Services Department.

’19 Danielle (Strzelecki) Leick (DNP), of Greenleaf, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner with Steele Chiropractic in Kewaunee.

’19 Tyler Vanden Hoogen (LS), of Green Bay, is an officer with the Oshkosh Police Department.

’20 June Brown (AAS), of Sparta, is an emergency department technician and health unit coordinator with the Mayo Clinic Health System.

’20 Aaron Wojciechowski (LS), of Oshkosh, is the Community Learning Center site coordinator for the Oshkosh Area School District. Wojciechowski is also a member of the Oshkosh City Council.

’21 Michelle Lokken (LS), of Reedsville, is the program coordinator for the Manitowoc Historical Society. Lokken recently published a book, Oshkosh, part of Arcadia Publishing’s Postcard History Series.

’80 Dan Bartelt (B) of Beaver Dam, retired after more than 40 years as an accountant with Parent Dott CPAs.

’80 Marshall Sneen (B), of Franklin, retired from Lutze Inc. as the top regional sales manager in North America.

’87 Scott Bartol (EHS), of Berlin, retired as principal at Berlin Middle School. Bartol has been with the Berlin Area School District for 34 years and served as principal since 2004.

’92 Matthew Schoultz (B), of New London, received the St. Anne Award for St. Mary Catholic Schools Spirit. Schoultz is the athletic and activities director at St. Mary Catholic High School in Neenah.

’00 Nate Carroll (LS), of Winneconne, set a new world record for the most pushups done in a year, while raising money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s Fallen First Responder Home Program. Carroll broke the 32-year, 1,500,230 pushup record in front of first responders in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey at the 48th Fun City Bowl.

’00 Mike Draheim (LS), of Menasha, owns XLR8 Sports Training, a company that assists athletes of all ages reach their full athletic potential. XLR8 has worked with close to 125 Division I and professional athletes in the Fox Cities.

’00 Bonnie Nickasch (N) and ’06 (MSN) and ’14 (DNP), of Appleton, is the interim dean of the UW Oshkosh College of Nursing. Nickasch is a faculty member and the director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) family nurse practice program.

’02 Corey Baumgartner (EHS) and ’05 (MS), of Kaukauna, is the incoming Brillion Area School District superintendent. Baumgartner was principal at Kaukauna High School since 2017.

’07 Jessica (Rowland) Seyfert (LS), of Mequon, is a paralegal with Sensient Technologies Corporation.

’08 Heather (Merten) Thompson (EHS), of North Fond du Lac, is the economic support supervisor for Fond du Lac County Department of Social Services. She is married with a three-year-old son.

’10 Nicole Kibichka (B), of Malone, was promoted to the director of finance and administration at the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh. Kibichka has been with the organization for 10 years.

’13 Travis Adams (LS), of Weston, is an athletic trainer with Ascension Wisconsin. Adams has been married to ’12 Alyssa (Gustke) Adams (N) for nine years. They have three children.

’13 Rachel Pociask (EHS), of Kaukauna, received the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Award for Positive Influence by St. Mary Catholic Schools. Pociask is a seventh-grade religion and social studies teacher at St. Mary Catholic Middle School in Neenah.

’14 Andrew Kreigh (LS), of Sun Prairie, is the director of music and liturgy at Saint Bernard Catholic Church in Madison. Kreigh maintains an active organ concert schedule throughout the United States.

’14 Matt Wolfert (EHS), of Oshkosh, is the incoming principal at Rosenow Elementary School in the Fond du Lac School District. Wolfert is currently dean of students and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) internal site coordinator at Franklin Elementary School in the Appleton Area School District.

’15 Jennifer DiMatteo (EHS), of Appleton, is the Parent Education Program coordinator for Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin. DiMatteo has experience doing case management for a homeless shelter, working in child protection for Outagamie County and enjoys working to educate people to prevent, intervene and recover from family hardships.

’15 Dylan Wurtz (B), of Appleton, a former Titan basketball player, is the head boys’ basketball coach at Menasha High School. Wurtz is a senior financial analyst at BMO Harris Bank.

’17 Aarron Van Buren (LS), of Chicago, Illinois, is marrying Tina Roberts in October 2021.

’18 Timothy “Ti” Windisch (LS), of Oshkosh, co-hosts the Gyro Step Podcast Network, which covers Milwaukee Bucks basketball. Windisch has been a contributor since June 2015. He also is a coordinator for Blue Wire network.

’67 W. P. “Buz” Barlow, Jr. (LS), of Dallas, Texas, received the 2021 North American Interfraternity Conference Alumnus Award of Distinction. Barlow has provided 56 years of service to Sigma Tau Gamma as national president, foundation president, chairman of the housing corporation and most recently, COVID response chairman. Barlow is an attorney, international philanthropist and church leader.

’69 John Breaker (EHS) and ’75 (MSE), of Menasha, taught physical education classes for 30 years in the Menasha Joint School District. Breaker continues to substitute teach, coordinate the Menasha All City Grade School Track and Field Wellness Day and teach a summer school class called Field Trips and Fitness.

’70 Doug Feavel (LS), of Vincennes, Indiana, published an unabridged third edition of his book Uncommon Character, Stories of Ordinary Men and Women Who Did the Extraordinary.

’70 Barbara Herzog (EHS) and ’75 (MST), of Oshkosh, is vice president of several organizations including the Oshkosh Area School District Board of Education, the Wisconsin Association of School Board’s Board of Directors and the Women’s Fund of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. Herzog is also president of the Oshkosh St. Vincent de Paul council. Herzog enjoys baking pies and spending time with her corgi Hank.

’71 James Toshner (EHS), of Sussex, and his wife Bonnie are retired with four grown kids. The Toshners enjoy playing pickle ball and spending time outdoors and in the gym.

’79 Jill (Knickel) Wagner (LS) and ’81 (EHS), of Fond du Lac, retired band director at Reedsville High School and Theisen Middle School in Fond du Lac, conducted the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band at Firemen’s Park in Campbellsport on July 8.

’82 Thomas Griffith (B), of Verona, co-founded Argent Brothers Custom Industrial Plating, a company that has discovered a way to replace traditional chromium acidic electroplating with an environmentally friendly alternative to create the look of chrome.

’97 Molly Gilbertson (LS), of Waupun, is the operations manager at the Beaver Dam National Exchange Bank & Trust.

’00 Trevr Smithlin (LS), of Neenah, is the co-founder of AdvertiseCast, a market leader in podcast advertising which was recently acquired by Liberated Syndication, Inc. Smithlin will continue to serve as chief innovation officer. Smithlin has been a guest speaker for the UWO Entrepreneurship Club.

’07 Kristi (Quant) Levy (EHS) and ’16 (MS), of Oshkosh, was named principal for Oshkosh Area School District’s planned “super middle school”, a new facility which will combine enrollments from Merrill and Webster Stanley middle schools in two years. Currently the principal at Washington Elementary, Levy will start as principal at Merrill Middle School.

’07 Ayse (Twit) Reyering (LS), of Los Angeles, California, is an Emmy-winning TV and film producer who has worked on series for Netflix, Amazon, Showtime, HBO and more. Reyering enjoys outdoor time with her husband and two children.

’08 Melissa (Riley) Fisher (LS), of Brookfield, was featured in Froedtert Today Magazine after her successful medical treatment for a hip condition. Fisher was a member of the Titan women’s gymnastics team.

Previously, Stanislawski worked as a producer, field reporter and fill-in anchor for TV stations in Green Bay, Champaign, Illinois, Greenville, South Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee. Stainslawski married ’07 John Stanislawski (LS) and they are expecting their second child.

’10 Adam Gitter (LS) and ’17 (MPA), of Kewaskum, is the Kewaskum village administrator. Gitter has previous municipal experience in the Town of Buchanan and West Bend.

’15 Rob Moss (B), of Fond du Lac, is a commercial underwriter with Society Insurance where he was hired seven years ago after serving as a UWO student intern.

’68 Jim Dykstra (LS), of McLean, Virginia, was re-elected to the board of the House Chiefs of Staff Alumni Association. Jim got his start on Capitol Hill as press secretary and legislative assistant to former Representative Bill Steiger of Oshkosh.

’82 Brian Haebig (LS), of Holly Springs, North Carolina, is the director of supply maintenance and contracting for the U.S. Army Forces Command in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Haebig is a retired Colonel who served thirty years in uniform.

’83 Kristine (Prellwitz) Mork (LS), of Scandinavia, retired from the Waupaca County Department of Health and Human Services after a 34-year career in social work. Mork has two children and eight grandchildren.

’85 Maria Kolpin (N), of Berlin, was honored by the Berlin Historical Society and the Berlin Area School District by having her name added to the “Be Proud, Be Inspired” Inspiration Wall at Berlin High School. Kolpin created a wellness program for her family business and helped to raise funds for Pagosa Springs Medical Center in her retirement city of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

’89 Peggy La Point (LS), of Portland, Oregon, is the programming coordinator  and host of KINK Sunday Brunch with Alpha Media-KINK FM.

’93 Dee Deanovich (B), of Fond du Lac, celebrated 30 years at National Exchange Bank & Trust where she is an accounting officer.

’94 John Scheelk (LS), of Oshkosh, helped organize the Intertel-IQ Annual Gathering in Prague, Czechoslovakia for those who score in the 99th percentile level on a valid supervised test of intelligence. Scheelk joined the organization in 2015.

’96 Doug DeRosier (LS), of Delafield, joined his fraternity brothers of the Epsilon Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi in celebrating the purchase of the rental home from the mid-1980s with an alumni reception and awards presentation during Homecoming. Nearly 200 people including chapter alumni, undergraduates, pledges, Gamma Phi Beta sorority alumni, UWO officials and community leaders attended the gathering.

’03 Kaba Bah (LS), of Madison, is a research scientist at UW-Madison and an affordable housing real estate entrepreneur.

’04 Ben Priesgen (LS), of Lomira, is a journalist with the Dodge County Pioneer, owner of Country Blossom Organics, and Dodge County Supervisor.

’12 Crystal Dziadosz-Brown (LS), of Cudahy, is an embroidery art production artist at Custom Print and Stitch. Dziadosz-Brown and her husband have 4-year-old twins.

’16 Robert Haller (LS) and ’21 (MPA), of Eau Claire, is deputy chief of prevention and community risk reduction for the Eau Claire Fire Department.

’16 Tha Vong Vue (LS), of Oshkosh, is a police officer with the Weyauwega Police Department. Vue has served as a reserve deputy for the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office for five years and an officer in Iron Ridge for three years.

’19 Alicia Dorsett (MPA), of Alexandria, Virginia, was promoted to Major in the Wisconsin National Guard. Dorsett is currently part of the Army Congressional Fellowship Program in Washington D.C.

’74 Bill Pratt (N), of Cedarburg, retired after 24 years at Wesley Willows in Rockford, Illinois where he served as the CEO.

’76 Deborah (Kelsey) Hamele (N), of Brooklyn, retired after working in the neonatal ICU at Meriter Hospital for 47 years. Hamele is now devoting her time to training her dogs to compete in agility, scent work, barn hunt, dock diving and dog therapy.

’76 Pamela (Senn) Corcoran (LS) and ’75 Timothy Corcoran (LS), of Custer, WI, continue to develop their permaculture small holding with chickens, sheep and two golden retrievers. Pamela owns Corcoran Puppets and continues to perform puppet shows at libraries and festivals.

’77 Art Rein (LS), of Waterford, released the second volume of his trilogy, The Red Wolf Chronicles. The novel A Flame Worth the Candle, was released in October as a sequel to Rolling in the Deep. Both novels are set in Wisconsin.

’80 Mary (Zodrow) Faltz (LS), of Montello, retired from the Marquette County Tribune after 43 years as general manager and editor.

’91 Michael Esslinger (LS), of Oshkosh, has published a photo book titled Oshkosh Quiet. Esslinger’s photos capture what his days looked like growing up in Oshkosh.

’94 Michael Stelling (EHS), of Erie, Colorado, was selected as the 2023 Colorado High School Counselor of the Year by the Colorado Council of High School and College Relations. Stelling is a counselor at Adams 12 Five Star School District.

’96 Joseph Capelle (LS) and (MSE) ‘99, of Fond du Lac, retired in March 2023 after working for 23 years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Wisconsin’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Capelle is now planning a trip to Hawaii for his 50th wedding anniversary.

’01 Dan Granger (EHS), of Wauwatosa, wrote the children’s book Why is Sam so SAD? Granger is attempting to bring a compassionate conversation about seasonal affective disorder and depression to children.

’02 Shane Carter (N) and ’10 (MSN), of Omro, is the president of Ascension Mercy in Oshkosh. Carter previously served as vice president and chief nursing officer at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.

’02 Shawn Robinson (EHS), of Oshkosh, has been chosen for the Madison 365’s ninth annual list of Wisconsin’s Most Influential Black Leaders. Robinson is the co-author of the graphic novel Doctor Dyslexia Dude and a research affiliate with Wisconsin’s Equity and Inclusion Laboratory at UW-Madison.

’03 Erin Krebs (EHS), of Appleton, was awarded the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Jazz Artist of the Year Award in 2023. Krebs performed three jazzy holiday concerts in the Fox Cities in December 2023.

’04 Ryan Haase (B), of Omro, is vice president of change management and marketing at Society Insurance. In his role, Haase supports employees on the marketing, change management, and corporate communications teams.

’04 Teri Grossheim (LS), of Arlington, Virginia, is an adjunct instructor at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland, teaching entertainment technology drafting and Vectorworks SME.

’05 David Diekelman (MBA), of Stevens Point, is vice president of sales at Willamette Falls Paper Company and has worked in the paper industry for 30 years.

’05 Jeff Ehrike (LS), of Oshkosh, has opened an indoor pickleball and bags facility at the Oregon Trail Commerce Center in Oshkosh. He has extensive background in strength and conditioning and wanted to lean into pickleball’s allure.

’08 Margaret Brill (LS), of Oshkosh, is vice president of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Aviation Foundation. In her role, Brill designs and executes the Foundation’s year-round strategy for EAA’s numerous initiatives.

’09 John M. Erickson (LS), of West Hollywood, California, is the mayor of the City of West Hollywood. Erickson has a commitment to upholding the city’s “founding vision for a forward-thinking, diverse, and tolerant community” and is a member of the UW Oshkosh Alumni Board of Directors. Erickson welcomed the UWO Women’s Volleyball team while they competed in California.

’10 Taylor Porter (LS), of Algoma, is the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the University of Oregon football team. Porter spent the past four seasons at Michigan State and brings 15 years of experience between the NFL and college football.

’12 Gerald Chatman (EHS), of Baton Rouge, LA, was hired as the defensive line coach for the University of Florida football team. Chatman’s previous school, Tulane, finished the year ranked eighth in the country in rush defense, fourth in turnover gains, and tied for 22nd in sacks.

’12 Jon Ellmann (LS) and ’14 (MS), of Neenah, was named NCAA’s Division III Coach of the Year. Ellmann led the UW Oshkosh Women’s Volleyball team to the Elite Eight this season. Ellmann is married to ’06 Jackie Munoz-Ellmann (EHS).

’13 Mikhaila (Weister) Riska (LS), of Appleton, opened a family and pediatric/perinatal practice in the Fox Cities after graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2016. Dr. Riska recently opened a secondary location in Oshkosh. Dr. Riska is married to ’14 Zachary Riska (EHS).

’14 Andrew Kohel (LS), of Denver, Colorado, is the new head coach of the Carroll University men’s soccer team. Kohel brings four years of head coaching experience at the NCAA Division-III level.

’15 Travis Teesch (LS), of Watertown, was named fire chief of Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue. Teesch started as a volunteer with the Valders Fire Department in 1993 and is now a 30-year firefighting veteran.

’17 Ashlynn Schreiner (LS), of Kaukauna, is the marketing and communications coordinator for the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce.

’17 Joshua Nave (MBA), of Appleton, is the vice president and director of information technology for Port Washington State Bank. Nave has more than 20 years of experience in the field.

’19 Michael Oldendorf (B), of Buffalo City, trained in logistics in Virginia before serving in Hawaii for three years as a quartermaster and in transportation. Oldendorf is now a first lieutenant in the Army where he works in the engineering branch.

’20 Ellie Barrera-Diaz (LS), of North Charleston, South Carolina, pursued a certificate in software development before relocating to South Carolina where she holds a position with Trustage as a software developer.

’22 Gabriella Keidl (LS), of Germantown, is a critical care technician at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and is planning to continue her education.

’22 Tory Jandrin (B), of Forestville, will be inducted into the Southern Door High School Athletic Hall of Fame in February. Jandrin works for Jandrin Refrigeration and coaches youth wrestling and high school football at Southern Door High School.

’77 Denise (Desens) Gosar (LS), of Eugene, Oregon, and her husband Frank Gosar are displaying their exhibit called “Desk and Table” at the Viterbo University Gallery. They also own a studio together called Off-Center Ceramics.

’75 Sue Haldemann (LS), of Menasha, retired from the Medical College of Wisconsin after 23 years as the coordinator for student support services. She has moved back to the Fox Valley and in 2022, participated in her church’s Good Neighbor Team and welcomed a family of 10 from the Congo.

’89 John Ceelen (B) and (LS), of Mequon, has become Bellin Health and Gunderson Health System’s new chief financial officer. Ceelen most recently served as CFO of Banner Health’s Western Division and has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare finance leadership.

’93 Shannon Burns (B), of Whitefish Bay, has been appointed as interim principal financial officer at Enerpac Tool Group. Burns joined Enerpac in Nov. 2022 and prior to that, held a position in financial leadership at Harley-Davidson, Inc. Burns is married to ’94 Jennifer (Harlfinger) Burns (LS).

’93 Donna Van Dyke (B), of Neenah, was promoted to vice president and treasurer for The Boldt Co. Van Dyke started at Boldt in 2020 and brings 30 years of experience in accounting and treasury background.

’95 Jennifer (Herbert) Walters (LS), of Fond du Lac, is celebrating 25 years at Aurora Health Care as the vice president of business development. She’s also started a personal training business called JW Fitness.

’96 Tammy Brunette (EHS) and ’06 (MSE), of Green Bay, was named the coordinator of the Learning and Innovation Center in Sister Bay by Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

’97 Kim Svoboda (LS), of Cape Coral, Florida, is joining the national office of the YMCA of the USA as the senior director of philanthropy and partnerships.

’98 Laurie Butz (MBA), of Suamico, has joined the New North Inc. board of directors. She also serves as the president and CEO of Capital Credit Union and has been in that position since Nov. 2021.

’01 Jennifer (Covey) Gennerman (EHS), of Sussex, will become the deputy superintendent of teaching and learning for the school district of Waukesha this summer.

’05 Joshua Kohlman (LS), of Evansville, was sworn in as an officer in the Beloit Police Department. He brings 16 years of law enforcement experience and served in the US Army Reserves.

’11 Sean Lynch (LS), of Oshkosh, graduated with a degree in vocal performance and has since performed at the 2022 TEDxOshkosh. He will be singing at the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra’s April 20 concert. Lynch also owns and operates Winnebago Bicycle in downtown Oshkosh.

’12 Airen Pfeiffer (EHS), of Madison, spent 10 years teaching social studies in Bangkok Thailand. Recently, he and his wife moved back to Wisconsin, and he is now teaching high school history at Wisconsin Heights High School.

’13 Phillip Rotar (LS), of Kansas City, Missouri, was commissioned from active duty in 2013 after serving in various leadership roles around the world. He is now a student at the Command and General Staff College working towards his master’s degree.

’20 Jake Fleischman (LS), of Gleason, has been sworn into the UW-La Crosse Police Department after attending the Police Academy at WTC where he was sponsored by UPD.

’21 Miranda Rehm (LS), of Waukesha, attended graduate school at UW-Madison and received a master’s in social work in 2023. She is now working as an advance practice social worker at Mendota Mental Health Institute.

’70 Ken Loest (LS) and ’78 (MS) of Plymouth, is retiring from teaching math after 51 years. Loest will speak at graduation this year as his final swan song at Glenbeulah High School. Loest and his wife ’71 Carol (Guse) Loest (EHS) plan to travel in their retirement.

’84 George Kroeninger (EHS) of Madison, was named Milwaukee School of Engineering’s (MSOE) inaugural executive director of professional education. Along with his new role, he will be launching the Center for Professional Education. Kroeninger’s vision includes supporting MSOE alumni and other professionals by providing access to continuing education.

’85 Erin Murphy (N) of Saint Paul, Minnesota, took over as Senate majority leader in Minnesota. Murphy served for 12 years in the Minnesota House as well as ran for governor in 2018. She also chairs the Rules and Administration Committee and serves on the Higher Education and Finance committees.

’95 Maurice Wince (EHS) of Milwaukee, and his wife Yashica Spears, were awarded a $25,000 grant by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Accelerate Grant for their grocery store Sherman Park Grocery. Wince and Yashica opened Sherman Park Grocery in 2022 in hopes of addressing Milwaukee’s food desert problems. This grant will allow them to further invest in their community’s well-being.

’97 Tom Swigert (LS) of Hartford, joined the seven-piece horn rock band Part Time Models as the lead trumpet. While in school at UWO, Swigert studied trumpet under Al Butcher, jazz under John Harmon and music recording under Wally Messner. Part Time Models performs in the Milwaukee area.

’98 Stephen Powers (LS) of Thomaston, Georgia, published his fourth poetry collection, Hail my Attention Kindly. The collection is a mix of lyric and narrative poetry about a tour through India, Ireland, Jekyll Island, New York City, London, Berlin, Hawaii, the Northwoods of Wisconsin and the world of Dolly Parton.

’91 John Schroeder (LS) of Waukesha, is the chairman of the planning committee for the 49th annual Convention of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association (MVPA). The event will be held at the EAA grounds in Oshkosh in September.

’01 William Krautkramer (EHS) of Kaukauna, has been hired as the head coach of the Kaukauna girls soccer team. Krautkramer has 22 years of teaching experience and was named the 2023 teacher of the year for Neenah Joint School District. He also comes to the head coach position with over 30 years of playing and coaching experience in the Fox Valley area.

’02 Melissa Johnston (LS) of Berlin, is completing her 21st year at Berlin High School as the licensed athletic trainer. She lives with her two Yorkies Isabelle and Teddy.

’06 Timothy Ziegler (LS) of New York, New York, was the editor on multiple highly regarded docuseries including Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street on Netflix, FDR on the History Channel, and Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffery Dahmer Tales on Netflix.

’07 Kevin Chevalier (LS) of Greenville, has been named an associate of the company at McMahon. Chevalier is an architecture, engineering, and construction professional with more than 25 years of experience.

’07 Jeff Potts (LS) and ’16 (MBA) of Wytheville, Virginia, was hired as the first managing director for GableStage Theatre. He will manage the company’s administrative functions and oversee day-to-day operations at the theatre.

’09 Jessica Johnson (MS) of Ripon, was selected by members of the school board, administration, parents, students, teachers and staff to be the principal of the Murray Park Quest Elementary School. Johnson comes with 20 years of experience in education.

’12 Tanya Reynen (LS) of Oconomowoc, was appointed as the City of Watertown fire chief. Reynen served as deputy chief of training center at Lake County Fire Rescue and as an adjunct fire/EMS instructor at Waukesha County Technical College. She also served as a firefighter/paramedic in Watertown and the Town of Brookfield.

’12 Rebecca (Dyreson) O’Connell (N) of Stevens Point, has been working as a bedside nurse at Marshfield Medical Center in the surgical ICU since graduation. Taking inspiration from one of her professors, she is completing her master’s degree this spring. She is married to ’12 Jason O’Connell (B).

’15 Daniel Zamost (MSE) of Appleton, will become the principal of Ripon Middle School July 1. He was the unanimous choice of a 17-member selection team.

’15 Ryan Steiskal (LS) of Neshkoro, has a gallery opening in the Annex Gallery on the UWO campus April 4-18. Steiskal is an illustrator, painter and draftsmen that uses acrylic inks to create images of animals and sci-fi or supernatural elements.

’19 Samuel Pedersen (EHS) of Muskego, was hired as Stewartville’s volleyball coach. Pedersen comes with a host of assistant coaching experience at the high school level, one year of head coaching experience and two years of assistant coaching experience at the collegiate level.

’21 Alixandria Talady (EHS) of Milwaukee, is a third-year fourth grade teacher at the Sharon Community School. Talady was the featured Service Above Self Award honoree this past February for her service to her students and the school’s community.

’22 Reagan Fritts (LS) of Oswego, Illinois is the social media coordinator at Red Shoes Inc. Fritts started as an account assistant and has been with the company since 2023.

‘04 Andrew Selgrad (LS), of Beaver Dam is the incoming coach of the Ripon High School football team. Selgrad spent the last three seasons as the head coach of the Columbus Cardinals, leading them to a 35-4 record.

’13 Kimberly Klaetsch (MBA), of Fond du Lac, is the vice president of business and private banking with National Exchange Bank & Trust. Klaetsch joined the bank nearly ten years ago and held several other positions including assistant vice president and retail lending supervisor.

‘14 Jolene Schatzinger (MSE), of Ripon, was named one of Insight on Business’ 40 Under 40 Award recipients as one of the region’s influential young professionals. Schatzinger is the executive director for the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund.

‘14 Liz (Cookle) Wollenberg (EHS), of Appleton, was named one of Insight on Business’ 40 Under 40 Award recipients as one of the region’s influential young professionals. Wollenberg is currently the vice president of regional strategy and resource development for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

‘15 Katelyn (Wendt) Lothary (N), of Brooklyn, is a certified medical examiner in SSM Health’s Occupational Health Clinic. Lothary previously worked in the UW Health Transplant Unit for six years and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Medicine degree in 2020.

‘15 Daniel Brosman (BBA), of Oshkosh, was named one of Insight on Business’ 40 Under 40 Award recipients as one of the region’s influential young professionals. Brosman is director of the Small Business Development Center at UW Oshkosh.

‘16 Reginald Parson (MPA), of Portland, Maine, serves as the first deputy director of the Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave Program.

‘17 Jennifer Faris (LS), of Oshkosh, was named one of Insight on Business’ 40 Under 40 Award recipients as one of the region’s influential young professionals. Faris works at United Manufacturers, Inc.; Faris Gourmet Popcorn & Treats.

‘17 Mai Nu (Thao) Vang (EHS) and ’22 (MS), of Green Bay, was named one of Insight on Business’ 40 Under 40 Award recipients as one of the region’s influential young professionals. Vang works for the Green Bay Area Public School District.

’18 Courtney Hansen (B), of Oshkosh, was named one of Insight on Business’ 40 Under 40 Award recipients as one of the region’s influential young professionals. Hansen works for the City of Manitowoc.

’18 Renee Smith (MBA), of Findlay, Ohio, is the associate chief medical officer for Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc. Smith previously served as system chief medical officer with the Blanchard Valley Health System in Ohio.

‘22 Wanda Burnley (EHS), of Roberts, is program director at Have A Heart, a social service organization that services individuals with disabilities throughout the River Falls area. Burnley is also a Lion’s Club member and the founders of the Hudson Hometown Music Festival.

’66 Kenneth Shingler (EHS), of Shawano, is retiring from the College of Menominee Nation where he has been an English teacher since 2001. Shingler previously taught English at Shawano High School for 33 years.

’69 Ken Wydeven (EHS), of Appleton, was one member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 351 who presented about his war experiences to the Hilbert High School students and the public. Wydeven said he graduated from UW Oshkosh on a Friday night and was drafted the following Monday morning. After his service in Vietnam, Wydeven was a teacher and principal at St. John Sacred Heart Sherwood.

’76 John Close (LS), of Charlotte, North Carolina, sported his Titan gear while vacationing in Frankfurt, Germany.

’78 Jeff Gerritt (LS), of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, took first place for column writing in the 2024 National Headliner Awards. Gerritt wrote as the editorial page editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

’82 Tom Washatka (LS), of Oshkosh, was the guest saxophonist with the Ripon College Jazz Ensemble in April. Washatka is a composer, arranger, recording engineer and producer who has been performing music for over 40 years. Washatka is married to performing artist Janet Planet.

’94 Craig Weberg (LS), of East Troy, was named the Rock County Sheriff’s Office 2024 Correctional Officer of the Year. Weberg works in the Community Corrections Bureau as a diversion officer and the only Huber officer.

’99 Teri (Kemppainen) McKean (EHS), of Skokie, Illinois, is the director of crisis and support operations for NAMI Chicago and an adjunct instructor with the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign School of Social Work. McKean is married to ’00 Jason McKean (EHS).

’03 Curt Kubiak (MBA), of Neenah, is the president and CEO of The Alliance whose mission is to improve the quality and affordability of healthcare. Kubiak is the founder and CEO of NOVO Health since 2014.

’05 Lauren Garstecki (LS), of San Tan Valley, Arizona, is the managing director of Aker Ink PR and Marketing. Garstecki has two decades of experience guiding business development strategies in healthcare, financial services, manufacturing and more.

’08 Rebekah Peppler (LS), of Paris, France, has written a cookbook, Le Sud: Recipes from Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur, which delves into the food, drinks and places that inspire her love of southern France.

’14 Leah (Christian) Anderson (EHS), of Denver, Colorado, and her husband, ’13 Dan Anderson (EHS) are expecting a baby girl.

’14 Steve Harrison (MS), of Winneconne, is the superintendent of the Neenah Joint School District. Harrison has been the Appleton Area School District’s assistant superintendent for five years.

’15 Irineo “Neo” Medina (LS), of Kaukauna, celebrated the completion of a new mural on the side of Read Elementary School in Oshkosh. Medina, the students, several teachers and more than 40 community members helped paint the mural next to the playground. Depicted are portraits of students in bright colors representing the vibrant and diverse nature of the school body.

’15 Carrie Rule (LS), of Oshkosh, launched Carrie Rule Limitless, a leadership development consulting business.

’17 Kim Lohman (N), of Prairie du Sac, has been a nurse at Sauk Prairie Hospital for 12 years. Lohman volunteers with Sauk Prairie Ambulance and has two children.

’17 Mai Nu (Thao) Vang (EHS) and ’22 (MS), of Green Bay, is a teacher in the Green Bay Area Public School District. Vang was named one of the Top 40 Most Influential Asian American Leaders in Wisconsin in 2023 by Madison 365. Vang was also named one of the 2024 Top 40 Under 40 Young Professionals of Northeast Wisconsin by Insight Publications.

’18 Colby Kasten (LS), of Reedsville, is opening Legacy Spine and Sport, specializing in family chiropractic services and sports performance and rehab.

’19 Danielle Block (MPA), of Appleton, is the Village of Kimberly’s village administrator and public works director. Block held this same position from 2017-2022 before joining the City of Appleton as public works director.

’19 Anthony Burgard (LS) and ’21 (LS), of Hubertus, is chief of the Hartford Fire and Rescue Department. Burgard was previously chief of the Richfield Volunteer Fire Company for four years where he had worked since 2004.

’22 Jack Halbach (EHS), of Hilbert, has returned to his alma mater to teach tech education at Hilbert High School.
