’73 Carl Wegner (B), of West Bend, is the retired president of Wegner & Associates. Wegner and his wife, ’73 Marlene (Lechner) Wegner (B), are expecting their seventh great grandchild in July.

’74 Eugene Lorge (LS), of Newport News, Virginia, retired after over 50 years of military, public and civil service. Lorge was a senior military analyst with the U.S. Army.

’74 Lauren Young (LS), of Milton, completed her doctoral studies at the University of Southern Mississippi.

’78 David Tehle (LS), of San Diego, California, was named board chair for U.S. Foods where he has been a director since 2016. Tehle was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Dollar General Corporation from 2004 to 2015.

’85 Steve Jorgensen (EHS), of Oshkosh, was named head coach of the Bay Port High School football team. Prior to serving as an assistant coach at Bay Port, Jorgensen was the coach at Fond du Lac High School.

’85 Jan (Ralston) Ptacek (EHS) and ’91 (MSE), of Clintonville, was initiated into the DKG Nu Chapter, an international society of key women educators in Shawano and Waupaca Counties. Ptacek had a 37-year career in the Clintonville School District and currently works part-time in the Shawano School District.

’89 Dan Lenz (B), of Oshkosh, celebrated 25 years of service with National Exchange Bank & Trust. Lenz is currently vice president of lending and credit.

’91 Greg Giles (EHS), of Fond du Lac, is the executive director of the Fond du Lac Area Community Foundation. Giles is the former executive director of the UW Oshkosh Foundation.

’91 Michael Gustafson (LS), of Kiel, is CEO of Sheboygan County YMCA. Gustafson has been the Sheboygan Falls YMCA executive director since 2001.

’93 Steve Heimermann (B), of Chanhassen, Minnesota, is executive vice president and head of wealth management with MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. Heimermann was previously a senior vice president and regional senior investment officer with Northern Trust Corporation in Chicago.

’95 Karen (Woelfel) Schuchardt (EHS), of Sheboygan Falls, is a claim consultant with Acuity Insurance. Schuchardt holds the Certified Leadership Program (CLP) designation.

’95 Aaron Vanden Heuvel (B) and ’16 (MBA), of Sun Prairie, is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Wisconsin Office of the State Public Defender.

’97 Travis Froze (B), of Hortonville, is the president of First Business Bank Northeast Region. Froze is married to ’97 Jill (Suttner) Froze (B).

’98 Mike Vaughan (B), of Winneconne, is the senior vice president of business banking at Bank First. Vaughan has over 26 years of experience in the banking industry.

’99 Kim (Paape) Esselman (LS), of Appleton, graduated from the 2023-2024 Leadership Fox Cities program through the Fox Cities Chamber. Esselman is the Housing Choice Voucher Program and Public Housing Program supervisor. She is married to ’99 Patrick Esselman (B).

’00 Keri Harke (LS), of Oshkosh, obtained her 4th degree black belt in May.

’04 Jennifer Koenecke (EHS), of Hortonville, is the Neenah Middle School principal after serving as the assistant principal for the past two years. Koenecke was a founding member of the Fox West Academy in the Hortonville Area School District and taught there for 12 years.

’05 Alicia (Smolinski) Frank (LS), of Menasha, graduated from the 2023-2024 Leadership Fox Cities program through the Fox Cities Chamber. Frank is the associate director of resource development with United Way Fox Cities.

’06 Steven Rosencrans (EHS) and ’18 (MBA), of Oshkosh, is an assistant principal at Fond Du Lac High School. Rosencrans has previously been an English and literacy teacher in the Menasha, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac School Districts.

’07 Holly Magnus (MSE), of Kaukauna, graduated from the 2023-2024 Leadership Fox Cities program through the Fox Cities Chamber. Magnus is the director of curriculum, instruction, and continuous improvement with the Kaukauna Area School District.

’07 Melanie Steinbarth (MSE), of Fond du Lac, is the new principal of Chegwin Elementary School. Steinbarth has 10 years of teaching experience.

’08 Kari (Mathusek) Godsill (LS), of Neenah, graduated from the 2023-2024 Leadership Fox Cities program through the Fox Cities Chamber. Godsill is the housing portfolio manager for the Appleton Housing Authority.

’08 David Knepfel (LS), of Plymouth, is an officer with the Omro Police Department.

’10 Robert Goplin (LS), of Green Bay, is the new fire chief for the Waukesha Fire Department. Goplin has over 27 years of experience with Green Bay Metro and the City of Green Bay Fire Department.

’11 Dexter Hoban (LS), of Manitowoc, is the general manager for information systems at Acuity Insurance.

’11 Kari (Cassidy) Seefeldt (LS), of Neenah, graduated from the 2023-2024 Leadership Fox Cities program through the Fox Cities Chamber. Seefeldt is a senior marketing generalist with Bassett Mechanical.

’13 Joe Johnson (LS), of Northfield, Minnesota, is the Rice County director of emergency services. Johnson has over 17 years of experience in the paramedic and ambulance service industry.

’13 Jake Schreiber (B), of Milton, is the regional manager for Advia Credit Union’s Wisconsin and Illinois markets.

’14 Christopher Van Dyke (B), of De Pere, graduated from the 2023-2024 Leadership Fox Cities program through the Fox Cities Chamber. Van Dyke is the director of data services for Capital Credit Union.

’15 Danielle Kolman (LS), of Oshkosh, graduated from the 2023-2024 Leadership Fox Cities program through the Fox Cities Chamber. Kolman is the assistant director of employee and alumni relations at Lawrence University.

’15 Matthew Spence (MPA), of Sheboygan, was appointed by Governor Evers as the Sheboygan County Sheriff. Spence is an experienced law enforcement officer with over two decades of service in the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office.

’16 Abigail Martin (LS), of Kaukauna, is a business analyst at Pitney Bowes and finished her ninth season as an assistant track and field coach at Lawrence University. Martin earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Management and Athletic Administration in 2019.

’17 Branden Lloyd (LS), of the Town of Wilson, is a senior commercial underwriter with Acuity Insurance. Lloyd holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.

’18 Kendyl Clark (MSE), of De Pere, is a high school science teacher for multilingual learners in the Little Chute Area School District. Clark previously taught at an International Baccalaureate School within Green Bay West High School.

’18 Brooke Giltner (LS), of Two Rivers, is an assistant athletic trainer for the Seattle Mariners’ High-A affiliate, the Everett AquaSox. Giltner was previously the head athletic trainer with the Green Bay Blizzard football team.

’19 Zach Radde (LS), of Oshkosh, is an officer with the City of Oshkosh Police Department. Radde was formerly a corrections deputy with the Winnebago County Jail.

’20 Miranda Rudnick (LS), of Clinton, Illinois, will graduate with her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in August. Rudnick has accepted an acute care physical therapy position at Carle Hospital.

’79 Henry “Butch” Blanke (LS), of Black Earth, won the unofficial Yahtzee World Championship, defeating ’80 Lori Rooker (N), of Sheboygan. The tournament began nearly 50 years ago in Clemens Residence Hall.

’80 Edward Cancio (EHS) and ’87 (MSE), of Sylvania, Ohio, has been featured in Marquis Who’s Who in America, a biographical source for thousands of researchers, journalists, librarians and executive search firms from around the world. Cancio is a distinguished associate professor at the University of Toledo where he has dedicated over 15 years to advancing the field of special education. Cancio’s career spans over 40 years and he has made significant contributions through his research on stress and burn out among special education teachers.

’94 Gwen Weithaus (B), of Menomonee Falls, is chief compliance officer for Cetera Investment Services. Weithaus was previously vice president of wealth risk and controls at Northwestern Mutual and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.

’02 Mike Mathy (LS), is the executive director of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association. Mathy previously served as executive director of the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association and Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies.

’04 Troy Youngbauer (MBA), of Neenah, was promoted to chief operations officer for Galloway Company where he has been senior director of operations for the past seven years. Youngbauer previously spent 20 years in operations and supply chain leadership with Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

’12 Kyle Tomlinson (LS) and ’19 Mya Guttenberg (EHS), of Sun Prairie, were married in July.

’15 Beth O’Laire (MBA), of Oakfield, is the vice president of human resources operations for McLeod Health. O’Laire was previously the market chief human resources executive with Ascension in Milwaukee.

’16 Kathryn Golab (LS), of New Berlin, presented at the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) joint annual meeting in Pittsburgh. Golab, a clinical laboratory scientist, discussed surprise diagnoses in the hematology laboratory.

’16 Kyle Resch (EHS), of Whitelaw, is the principal of Valders Elementary School.

’17 Aarron Van Buren (LS), of Kalamazoo, Michigan, is the head coach of D1 Training Kalamazoo. Van Buren was previously the strength and conditioning coordinator at Gobles High School.

’19 Payton (Campbell) Lehnherr (EHS), of Hortonville, is the workforce development coordinator for the Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Corporation. Lehnherr returned to Oshkosh after working in the county mental health and justice treatment field for five years. Lehnherr also runs RISE Volleyball Labs, a volleyball training business, and serves as a Girl Scouts leader.

’79 John Sitek (EHS), of Marinette, will have Higley Stadium behind the Marinette High School named after him. Sitek has committed over 40 years to the student athletes at the school as a coach and physical education teacher. Sitek is married to ’71 Judy (Loiselle) Sitek (EHS).

’83 Brenda (Schuett) Lau (LS), of Venice, California, wrote and directed the feature documentary QUEER CHURCH which is live on Amazon. The film showcases a heartwarming tale of diversity, inclusion, and the triumph of the human spirit over adversity.

’90 Craig Heilman (LS), of Sun Prairie, was appointed deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). Heilman was previously division administrator for DFI’s Division of Corporate and Consumer Services.

’91 Steven Lutzke (EHS), of Orfordville, is the principal at St. Rita Catholic School in Rockford, Illinois. Lutzke was previously the district administrator for Parkview School District in Orfordville for 15 years.

’92 Lisa (Van Matre) Jossart (LS), of Green Bay, was named vice president of economic development for the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce. Jossart has over 30 years in business strategy, strategic partnership development, community engagement, marketing, and sales.

’93 Suzanne (Weber) Porath (EHS) and ’99 (MSE), of Manhattan, Kansas, is an associate professor at Kansas State University.

’94 John Scheelk (LS), of Oshkosh, was voted incoming president of Intertel, an international society of the intellectually gifted, composed of people from a wide variety of geographical, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Scheelk will start his term in January.

’95 Geoff Clapp (LS), of Weirton, West Virginia, is an associate pastor at Evangel Baptist Church.

’95 Pat Mahoney (B), of Plain, is the River Valley School District’s business manager. Mahoney has taught business and alternative education and coached River Valley wrestling for 22 years.

’95 Jamie (Wasserman) Zehren (EHS), of Lakeland, Florida, is the human resource assistant at Tri-County Human Services. Zehren and her husband celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in August.

’96 Amy Betters-Midtvedt (EHS), of Appleton, authored the book You’ll Make It (and They Will Too)-Everything No One Talks About When You’re Parenting Teens. The book is for the parent trying to make sense of their child’s fashion and life choices and for those who long for a deeper connection to the teenager that has their hearts.

’97 Joey (Vanderzanden) Reader (B), of Little Chute, was given the New North Region’s Women of Influence-Business Owner Award. Reader is owner of A-Mazing Events LLC.

’98 Kelly (Risner) Heroux (B), of Peshtigo, celebrated 20 years as president and CEO of Peshtigo National Bank.

’99 Terri Kallsen (MS), of Bolinas, California, was elected as the 2025 CFP Board chair-elect. The CFP Board is the professional body for personal financial planners in the U.S. Kallsen is the senior operating partner at Rise Growth Partners.

’99 Kyle Lentz (LS), of Wauwatosa, celebrated 25 years with Hamacher Resources Group, Inc. where he is an HBC Category Analyst.

’99 Tina Seashore (B) and ’15 (MBA), of Appleton, is the executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Menasha Corporation where she will lead all aspects of human resource strategy. Seashore was previously vice president of human resources at the Menasha Corporation subsidiary, Menasha Packaging Company.

’01 Barb (Fleisner) LaMue (MPA), of Green Bay, was given the New North Region’s Women of Influence-Lifetime Achievement Award. LaMue is the president and CEO of New North, Inc.

’03 Randall Zietlow (MBA), of Marion, is the CFO of Prevail Bank, based in Medford. Zietlow has over 25 years of banking experience and will work out of the bank’s Stevens Point branch.

’04 Sarah Endter (B), of Appleton, is the vice president of underwriting services at SECURA Insurance.

’07 Lukas Steiner (LS), of Prairie du Chien, was appointed by Governor Evers to serve as a Crawford County Circuit Court judge. Steiner has practiced law for over 10 years, and served as Crawford County District Attorney.

’09 Emily (Lokken) Willey (EHS), of Omro, combined her passion for aviation with her love of art by sharing her artwork at the 2024 Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture. Looking at aviation artwork is a popular activity among EAA attendees.

’11 Evan Wendlandt (LS), of Fort Collins, Colorado, is the director of economic development for the Town of Windsor. Wendlandt has 15 years of economic development experience at both the state and municipal level.

’12 Julia Mader (B), of Milwaukee, was appointed vice-chair of the Welfare Benefit Plans Committee within the American Bar Association Trust and Estate Employee Plans and Executive Compensation Group. Mader is an associate with Michael Best and Friedrich LLP.

’18 Brooke Bayer (LS), of Mequon, works in the entertainment industry as a production coordinator, art coordinator, and special effects foreman on various commercials, television shows and movies.

’21 Edward Schmitz (MBA), of Marshall, joined the Marshall Village Board in July. Schmitz is a senior compliance program manager at Promega Corporation and a former U.S. Marine.

’24 Josh Cavender (LS), of Glenview, Illinois, is a general assignment reporter for WLUK-Fox 11 based out of the Fox Valley.

’67 John “Phil” Hinderaker (B), of Madison, was inducted into the Class of 2023 Meat Industry Hall of Fame in September. Hinderaker is the retired president of Alkar, a smokehouse manufacturer he led to become a leader in thermal processing equipment and technology. Hinderaker created a large hotdog production machine that increased production from one to five tons per hour.

’75 Selwyn Griffith (EHS), of Laurel, Maryland, wrote his first book, Carnage at the Ross Park Zoo, inspired by his own childhood fear of snakes. Griffith, native to Trinidad and Tobago, was a cardiac physiologist for 38 years.

’87 Bob Meller (LS), of Oshkosh, is a lead geologist with Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC. Meller has 35 years of experience in environmental consulting and is married to ’87 Sandra Meller (LS).

’88 Michael Pica (EHS), of Wautoma, completed his 24th year as a teacher in the Wautoma Area School District. Pica is a physical education teacher and is active in youth sports boards and coaching.

’89 Tom Pamperin (B), of Marion, is the President and CEO of Premier Community Bank and has 35 years of experience in the banking industry. Pamperin is married to ’89 Denise (Kersten) Pamperin (B).

’95 Tracey (Marohn) Miller (EHS) and ’00 (MS), of Omro, is starting her 30th year as a high school English and speech teacher at Omro High School. Miller has also been an adjunct instructor at both UW Oshkosh and Fox Valley Technical College.

’95 Todd Noggle (LS), of De Pere, is the senior director administrator for Aurora Health Care Medical Group responsible for the Oshkosh and Fond du Lac patient service community.

’96 Amy Pollesch (LS), of Ripon, is the director of operations at the Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area. Pollesch brings more than 20 years of non-profit leadership in the community, including founding and running Traded Treasures Thrift Store and Community Food Pantry.

’98 Kelly Ferguson (EHS), of Madison, was named the Wisconsin Association for Language Teachers (WAFLT) 2024 Teacher of the Year, an award that highlights the exemplary achievements of language educators in Wisconsin. Ferguson is a Spanish teacher at Robert M. La Follette High School.

’02 Kelly Guenther (LS), of La Habra, California, is releasing Whatever the Hell You Want: An Escape Plan to Break Out of Life’s Little Boxes and Live Free from Expectations, a book to help readers redefine life’s expectations to achieve happiness and authenticity. The book is co-authored with her business partner and The Breakout podcast co-host, Keri Ohlrich. Guenther is the chief operations officer for Abbracci Group.

’19 Jacqueline Conway (N), of Stoughton, is a family nurse practitioner with the SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group.

’21 Neal Hogden (LS), of Marshfield, is a high school English teacher with the Spencer School District.

’23 Jenna Kopitske (LS), of Nashville, had her debut radio single released by Clinetel Records Nashville. Cascade was written and performed by Kopitske, a drummer, pianist, songwriter, composer, and teacher from Appleton. Kopitske was nominated as multi-instrumentalist of the year for the 2024 Josie Music Awards hosted at the Grand Ole Opry.

’63 Larry Didlo (EHS), of Oshkosh, traveled on Old Glory Honor Flight’s Mission 69 in July with fellow Army veterans.

’71 John Gerdener (B) and ’79 (MBA), of Champlin, Minnesota, received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor given to individuals who have demonstrated excellence and longevity in their field, and made lasting contributions to society. Gerdener is a retired CPA.

’80 Phil Whitebloom (B), of Elkridge, Maryland, wrote Handling Objections-Clues for Closing the Sale, a book designed to give sales professionals the ability to turn objections into closed sales and boost their results.

’86 Kaye Tallier (EHS), of Streator, Illinois, will retire as the Streator High School Bulldog’s girls tennis coach after 28 seasons. Tallier will also retire from her freshman health and adaptive physical education teaching positions at the end of the school year.

’87 Mike Heller (LS), of Madison, is the host of The Mike Heller Show on 95.3/99.1 The Score WSCO in Appleton and Oshkosh. The show airs on weekdays from noon-2 p.m.

’90 Wendy DeMore Monson (EHS), of Oconomowoc, retired after a 33-year teaching career. Monson continues to work full-time for Journey21, a non-profit organization that helps adults with disabilities.

’91 Tim Kramer (LS), of Monmouth, Illinois, is the owner of Northway Productions. Involved in professional production since his graduation from UWO, Kramer has created political spots, national documentaries and more, and has worked for EAA, PBS and John Deere, to name a few. Kramer is married to ’90 Lori Walters-Kramer (LS).

’93 Jeffrey Haase (LS), of Berlin, is a family court judge in the Town of Oneida. Haase has 19 years of experience in private law practice in the criminal defense and family law sectors. Haase was previously the Corporation Council for Adams County and the attorney manager for the Fond du Lac Public Defender’s Office.

’93 Donovan Heavener (LS), of Lilliwaup, Washington, is the owner of PNW Polygraph Services, LLC. Heavener is retired from a 29-year career in law enforcement.

’01 Scott Jennings (B), of Oshkosh, is the senior vice president and portfolio manager with Associated Bank Private Wealth. Prior to joining Associated Bank, Jennings spent 23 years at BMO Global Asset Management where he was a director, senior portfolio manager and investment advisory lead.

’05 Cullen Rudew (LS), of Menlo Park, California, is the assistant director of student services in the school of Engineering at Stanford University. Rudew and his wife are the proud parents of three children.

’06 Melissa Moore (N), of Neenah, has been a registered nurse for 19 years, the past eight with ThedaCare. Moore enjoys running and has completed three 50Ks, the Kettle 100 mile, a 100k run at Ozark Foothills, and the Marji Gesick 50.

’13 Jordan (Dvorak) Eiting (EHS), of Little Chute, is an FSET and W2 team lead with Forward Service Corporation, a non-profit organization that uses case management to educate and secure employment.

’15 Irineo Medina (LS), of Kaukauna, was named one of Wisconsin’s 36 Most Influential Latino Leaders for 2024 by Madison 365. Medina is a practicing artist and DEI mentor coordinator for the Appleton Area School District. He previously worked for five years at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley.

’18 Renee Smith (MBA), of Findlay, Ohio, is the chief medical officer at Security Health Plan of Wisconsin.

’20 Hleeda Vang (EHS), of Sheboygan, wrote a chapter for the book A Career in Student Affairs, published by a Hmong publisher, HER Publications. The book features Hmong Student Affairs professionals and their personal journeys in higher education. Vang is a bilingual success coach at UW-Green Bay. Vang is married to ’18 Jack Yang (EHS) and ’20 (MS).

’22 Grace Burdick (B), of Ripon, is the marketing and communications coordinator for the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce. Burdick has a background in brand development, design, advertising, web development, and event planning.

’22 Magdalyn Gosz (LS), of Castle Rock, Colorado, is a medical student at the Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

’10 Samantha (Jacyna) Smith (B), of Hilbert, owns Optimal Cleaning Solutions, a woman-owned cleaning service company recognized as a 2024 EPA Choice Partner of the Year for their achievements in the design, manufacture, promotion, selection and use of cleaners, detergents and other products with safer chemicals.

’11 Todd Healy (MBA), of Appleton, is the senior vice president of commercial lending at Fox Communities Credit Union. Healy was previously with Nicolet National Bank.

’16 Christina Thor (LS), of Green Bay, is the executive state director of 9to5 Wisconsin. Thor was recognized by the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC) as a 2024 Young Professional of the Year for focusing her career on helping empower marginalized communities through grassroots organizing and care-centered policies across Wisconsin.

’61 Joanne (Reitz) Jonas (EHS), of Clintonville, has kept in touch with several friends made decades ago at UWO from the Classes of 1961 and 1962. The group recently met for lunch to reminisce.

’68 Jim Dykstra (LS), of Mc Lean, Virginia, received the Thomas Daffron Senior Stennis Fellow Service Award for exceptional service leadership to the John C. Stennis Center for Public Service. Former chief of staff in the U.S. House of Representatives, Dykstra was an inaugural Stennis Fellow in the 103rd congress and served as a mentor to young staffers for the past 13 Congresses in the Stennis Center’s Emerging Leader Program.

’74 David Rank (LS), of West Bend, is the founder and director of Novel Bookcamp, an annual week-long writing workshop and retreat where many writers from across the nation have learned the secrets of long-form writing and publishing. Rank is married to ’73 Judy Rank (N).

’83 Lisa Zemlock (BME) and ’93 (MS), of Oshkosh, is a member of the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band. Twelve UWO alumni performed together in the 48th annual Cathedral Concert in November.

’86 Sandie Brick-Margelofsky (EHS), of Dodgeville, retired from her position as managing director of student affairs advancement at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023. The past two summers Brick-Margelofsky has served as a program assistant at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch in Yellowstone National Park.

’90 Pat Zietlow Miller (LS) and ’00 (MS), of Sun Prairie, already an accomplished author, wrote her first nonfiction picture book, Unstoppable John: How John Lewis Got His Library Card and Helped Change History. Zietlow Miller is married to ’85 Mark Miller (LS).

’94 John Buelow (B), of Fond du Lac, was named one of BizTimes Media’s Wisconsin 275 Award recipients, given to the 275 most influential executives in different economic sectors throughout the state. Buelow, president of Mercury Marine Engine Division of Brunswick Corporation, received the award in the manufacturing sector.

’96 Oscar Mireles (LS), of Madison, retired after 30 years as the executive director of Omega School. The recipient of the 2022 UW-Oshkosh Distinguished Alumni Award, Mireles will continue to run the organization he founded, Latinos Organizing for Understanding and Development, a non-profit in support of Latino artists statewide.

’97 Barbara “Bobbi” Miller (B), of Neenah, received the Fox Cities Economic Development Professionals (FCEDP) 2023 Outstanding Service Award. Miller is the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board’s manager of business services and joined the board in 2005.

’99 Eric Thiede (EHS), of Menasha, is one of 110 new U.S. State Department diplomats, and the only representative from Wisconsin. Thiede is a social studies teacher at Neenah High School.

’03 Julie (Anderson) Astrella (N), of Henderson, Nevada, has been an associate professor of nursing at Touro University Nevada for over 10 years. Astrella earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership degree and recently celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with husband ’03 Chris Astrella (LS) and ’21 (MPA).

’09 Jason Freedman (MPA), of McFarland, was named police chief in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Freedman currently serves as a captain at the Madison Police Midtown District where he’s been employed since 1997.

’13 Ceev Sue Xiong (B), of Little Chute, is an admissions specialist and advisor for the Hmong Student Union Club at Fox Valley Technical College.

’17 Lyndsay Poeschl (LS), of Oshkosh, biology alumna and employee of Kimberly-Clark, led and helped drive the donation of microscopes to UWO. The new microscopes will provide opportunities for students to learn how to use advanced histology equipment for research and diagnostics.

’18 Jennifer Gauthier (MPA), of Shawano, was recognized by the Biden Administration’s Rural Innovators Initiative as an innovator who is making a positive impact on her community. Gauthier is the College of Menominee Nation’s Sustainable Development Institute (SDI) director.

’18 Jacob Pyle (B), of Milwaukee, is vice president-risk officer at Waukesha State Bank. Pyle has six years of experience in finance and risk management.

’20 Landen Moore (LS), of Appleton, is a multimedia journalist with Woodward Communications.

’21 Kyle Boucher (B), of Greenville, a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual, finished first in the company for new clients in 2024. He is a member of the UW-Oshkosh Alumni Association Board of Directors.

’21 Mitchell Gerend (B), of Kimberly, will be inducted into the 2025 Southern Door Athletic Hall of Fame class. During Gerend’s Titan Football career, he was a 4-year letter winner and two-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) champion. Gerend is the lead of the Enterprise Advanced Analytics organization with U.S. Venture.

’21 Jason Schneider (EHS), of Fond du Lac, is the interim Fond du Lac High School Baseball head coach. Schneider is also a health teacher at Woodworth Middle School.

’22 Kevin Kollmann (LS), of Fond du Lac, is a graduate student and production and lighting assistant at Northern Illinois University. Kollmann attended a conference in New York City, serving as an advocate for accessibility within the lighting and sound field.

’71 Craig Pfeffer (LS) of Tampa, Florida, had his first radio job at UWO leading to a radio career in cities including Milwaukee, St. Louis, Los Angeles and more. Pfeffer shared a 1978 photo of himself at KSLQ St. Louis along with Bernie Taupin and Alice Cooper.

’76 Daniel Sommerville (EHS), of Wheaton, Illinois, professor emeritus at Wheaton College, is in his sixth season as music director and conductor of the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra. Sommerville recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the College Orchestra Directors Association at the organization’s national conference and will be the conductor of the 2025 Wisconsin School of Music Association High School Honors Orchestra.

’89 Lonna (Wolf) Schickert (EHS), of Colgate, was named a Civic Music Association Milwaukee’s 2025 Teacher of the Year Award recipient. Schickert is a band director at North Middle School in the School District of Menomonee Falls. Schickert co-directs the Sixth Grade Band with an emphasis on the brass, directs the Seventh Grade Band and assists with the Eighth Grade Band. She also directs the North Middle School Jazz Ensemble.

’94 Chris Lee (LS), of Madison, is the Adams Publishing Group (APG) reporter for Lake Mills, Waterloo, Cambridge and the surrounding areas. Lee also runs his own website development, video production and IT support business.

’96 Sarah (Mielke) Milton (EHS), of Muskego, received the Civic Music Association Milwaukee’s 2025 Certificate of Excellence for Choral Music Instruction. Milton is the choir director at Muskego Lakes Middle School in the Muskego-Norway School District. She teaches choir and general music, chamber choir, after school a capella ensembles, and the annual musical at Muskego Lakes Middle School.

’00 Anne (McCarthy) Michels (EHS), of Oregon, was named one of BRAVA Magazine’s Women to Watch for 2025. Michels is the founder of Green Pastures Living, a nonprofit organization that developes affordable and accessible independent senior housing in small communities. ’01 Bill Nelson (LS), of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, was awarded the State Department’s Data for Diplomacy Award in recognition of his work to advance the use of data in supporting diplomatic initiatives all over the world. As a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State, Nelson has served in a range of positions at U.S. missions in Mexico City, Toronto, Erbil, London, Kabul and Frankfurt.

’03 Nathan Wardinki (LS), of Madison, authored the book Dissecting Cannibal Holocaust which examines the 1980 film and its relevance to cinematic and literary history, anthropology, nature studies, ethics and censorship, media and journalism, documentary filmmaking, representations of cannibalism and post-colonialism, and genre cinema.

’03 Nate Weyenberg (B), of Appleton, is a financial representative at Fox Communities Credit Union. Weyenberg will facilitate and enhance investment services opportunities within the organization. He was previously a senior premier banking officer at BMO Bank with over 20 years of experience in client relationship management in the financial services sector.

’06 Jacobus Van Zyl (B), of Glenmore, Pennsylvania, is the executive vice president and COO of Safety Hoist Company, a manufacturer of gas and electric material hoists. Van Zyl has two decades of experience as a financial executive, most recently as CFO for the NCHERM Group and controller for Comstar Technologies.

’07 Lindsey Graff (N), of Wausau, is a nurse practitioner who provides expanded wound care services at Aspirus Stanley Hospital and Aspirus Merrill Hospital.

’09 Bethany Rusch (MSW), of Oshkosh, is the vice president of finance and administration at Moraine Park Technical College. Rusch will provide strategic leadership and coordinate innovative solutions for all financial services, talent and facility functions.

’11 Ann Digunske Cibulka (B), of Minnetonka, Minnesota, is a 2025 Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree. Cibulka is the vice president of real estate development at Ryan Companies US, Inc.

’15 Forrest Buck (EHS), of Chippewa Falls, is the director of Career Development at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). Buck facilitated the opening of Ollie’s Professional Threads, a donation-driven permanent space where CVTC’s students get assistance dressing for success by selecting complimentary professional attire when they transition into the workforce.

’69 Norbert Hill (LS) and ’71 (MSE), of Oneida, co-edited the book Beyond Blood Quantum: Refusal to Disappear, a guide to community conversations that confronts the insidious impact of the Indian Reorganization Act and explores the pressing questions many Native Nations face in determining citizenship today.

’75 Joseph Harris (EHS), of Las Cruces, New Mexico, has spent his life dedicated to youth under age 18 by coaching, officiating multiple sports, and controlling large groups of youth detained by the courts of the County Field Work and Administration. Harris retired in 2008.

’80 Keith Smith (LS), of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, retired in 2022 after a 42-year career, primarily as a groundwater geologist with the South Florida Water Management District. Today Smith splits his time between Florida and North Carolina.

’83 Carolyn (Faehling) Dolezal (B), of Barrington, Illinois, was named one of the 2025 Top 50 Women Leaders of Illinois. Dolezal is the chief operating officer of the Americas’ SAP Users’ group (ASUG), the world’s largest independent SAP user group.

’90 Debra (Sass) Ponath (LS), of Fond du Lac, joined the Fond du Lac Family YMCA board of directors. Ponath is the senior director operator of business development and marketing at Grande Cheese Company.

’95 Diane Dietzel (N), of Oakfield, is the administrator of the SSM Health Fond du Lac Market. Dietzel previously served with the SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic for nearly 27 years, ultimately as administrator of clinic services until 2022. Dietzel spent the last two years as director of clinical operations for Community Physicians with Froedtert at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

’99 Jimmy Danko (LS), of Port Orchard, Washington, exhibited Monuments of Play at the Seattle Art Museum, featuring sculptural and multidimensional oil paintings rendered on wood that ponder the power struggle between play and keeping score.

’01 Alysha (Rosenthal) Jordahl (EHS), of Stacy, Minnesota, is in her 24th year as a music teacher. Jordahl is currently with the Anoka-Hennepin School District.

’02 John Roberts (LS), of Neenah, received second place in the NAI Pfefferle 2024 Broker of the Year competition. Roberts is a senior commercial real estate advisor at NAI Pfefferle and a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.

’04 Todd Kelsey (MBA), of Waupaca, is the president and CEO of Plexus, named the 2025 Manufacturer of the Year in the Mega Category (500+ employees).

’19 Said Hassan (MPA), of Green Bay, is the co-founder and executive director of COSMA (Community Service Agency) which serves immigrants and refugees who have been displaced from their home countries due to war or civil unrest and brought to the United States by the American government.

’21 Rachel White (EHS), of New Berlin, is a third-grade elementary school teacher at Wilson Elementary School in West Allis. White is the varsity dance team coach at Oconomowoc High School and head coach for dance at the Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School in West Allis.
