
Ostendorf, 93, formerly of Oshkosh, joined the UWO faculty in fall 1964. He served as one of two original members of the accounting department. In 1990, he received the University’s Distinguished Teaching Award, and he served as chair of the accounting department from 1991 to 1994.
At UWO, he also was involved in the Faculty Senate, the General Education Task Force, the Undergraduate Programs Committee, the Accounting Club and the Titan Booster Club.
When he retired in June 1994, his colleagues and former students established the Harry Ostendorf Accounting Scholarship in his honor, which continues to be awarded annually to accounting majors active in student organizations.
